Samian, a multi-talented artist and passionate photographer, invites us to delve into the heart of Indigenous history and culture through a poignant journey within the photographic collections of anonymous Indigenous individuals preserved within the walls of archival institutions. Armed with his camera and great curiosity, Samian aims to breathe life into these shots from the past. Through impactful encounters at the Musée du Quai Branly in France and at Library and Archives Canada, he tells us how several historians today are attempting to reclaim the lost identities of these Inuit women, men, and children, members of the First Nations, who lived in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
