It is estimated that there will be an additional 2 billion people on the planet by mid-century. One way to feed this growing population is through aquaculture. The demand for seafood products has never been higher. One-third of fish stocks are currently overexploited, and almost all the rest are being fished at the limits of sustainability. For some, technological innovations in aquaculture are the way forward. But will these solutions be sufficient to ensure the sustainability of aquaculture?
